Travel Sketching

When talking to fellow sketchers about travel locations, sooner or later someone will say “that was before I started sketching – I have to go back ans sketch it!” It’s just like you haven’t really been there, until you had the chance to sketch it. And I feel the same way.

Before sketching, I used to come home from vacation with an endless amount of photos. Usually there was never the time to sort through them, resulting in a huge pile I would never go back to. Today I come home with a sketchbook full of vivid memories of places and people I met and amazing food I tased along the way. Among the growing collection of my sketchbooks, my travel sketchbooks are the ones I come back to the most.

To me the combination of traveling and sketching is a perfect match.
