My street scenes and public places would always be deserted with not a human figure in sight. At one point I decided to face my fears and I took a workshop with Marina Grechanik, artist and urban sketcher from Tel Aviv and master when it comes to sketching people. Of course one workshop is not enough to learn everything you need to know, but I think she planted a seed of the joy of sketching people. So bit by bit I became more comfortable and with practice comes improvement.
Today doing quick 5 minute portrait sketches is an almost daily habit. It’s a great way to relax and calming my busy mind and usually it’s the start to doing some more sketching
