Urban Sketching can be described as visual journalism. Artists of all walks of life draw on-location and document the world around them. Urban Sketching has become an international movement bringing together like-minded people who share their works on social media, „showing the world one drawing at a time“ – the motto of Urban Sketchers.
For me Urban Sketching is so interesting because it involves a constant learning process. When we go out for a sketch meetup, the most interesting and inspiring part is sharing the sketches in the end. Even if the subject was the same, everyone will have a completely unique approach and style. We learn from and inspire each other.
At the same time Urban Sketching made me see my surroundings from a different perspective. I love messy and urban scenes. Spending time on a scrap yard is something that only sounds appealing since I discovered urban sketching.
